A fire broke out at a labour camp in Sector 126 of Noida, Uttar Pradesh, early Tuesday morning, prompting a swift response from fire and police teams.

Authorities said no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident despite initial concerns that several people might be trapped inside the building.

According to Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Pradeep Kumar Chaubey, information about the fire was received at around 6:20 a.m. from a labour camp located in the Raipur area of Sector 126.

“In Raipur, at a labour camp in Sector 126, information about a fire was received around 6:20 am in the initial phase. There were reports of people being trapped, following which police teams and fire brigade teams reached the spot and began firefighting operations,” Chaubey said.

The labour camp is a G+1 structure where approximately 50 to 60 workers were reportedly residing. Firefighters immediately launched rescue and firefighting operations amid fears that occupants could be trapped inside the building.

“It is a G+1 labour camp where around 50–60 people were reported to be staying. The fire was caused by a gas leak. When teams reached, no one was found trapped inside,” the CFO added.

Officials said the blaze was brought under control before it could spread further, and all residents were safely evacuated. Preliminary investigations indicate that a gas leak may have triggered the fire, though a detailed inquiry is underway to ascertain the exact cause.

The incident comes a day after one of Uttar Pradesh's deadliest recent fire tragedies in Lucknow's Aliganj area, where 18 people lost their lives after a massive blaze engulfed a commercial building. Authorities have identified 15 of the victims, most of whom were reportedly between 20 and 24 years old. Two injured persons, Lavpreet and Jayant, remain under treatment at King George's Medical University.
